Dolphin Swim & Shark Encounter

The world's largest dolphin lagoon and the world's first shark interaction. The dolphin-swim experience begins with a brief orientation, after which guests enter the water to meet the dolphins!

Participants learn to use dolphin trainers' hand signals and positive reinforcement techniques to communicate with their new friends, then actually swim and play with the dolphins. It is an amazing experience! All this and much more await guests who come to experience this adventure!

Guests that are more adventurous will be eager to touch, pet and feed the sharks that inhabit our 200,000-gallon shark pool. These mysterious and greatly misunderstood sea creatures (many of whom are over six feet 1.8 meters in length) will swim right up to guests standing on a platform in the water.

There are multiple times for this program. We decide the times according to the pick up time of each client at their hotel. Times on order calendar are for booking purposes only.

Summary:

This tour offers hotel pick-up. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult 18 & over. Minimum age to participate is 6. Pregnant guests are not permitted in interactive programs. Prices are in US dollars & all taxes are included. Please reserve online, or call us toll-free at 888-217-2181. There is a $3.95 processing fee per order. This is a flat fee regardless of the number of tickets or tours purchased on an order.
There is a service charge per ticket. This charge will be reflected on your summary before you checkout. The total shown includes any and all taxes, fuel surcharges, and service fees. There are no additional charges.

Cancellation Policy: There are no refunds. All sales are final.

Change Fee Policy: If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center.

The Dolphin Swim, the most popular program at Ocean World, begins with an exciting educational introduction to dolphins presented by our experienced dolphin trainers. You'll not only learn fascinating facts about these amazing creatures, but you also be given explicit instructions for participating safely in the encounter - a must for a truly pleasurable experience.

Our Shark Encounter pool has nine nurse sharks (Ginglymostoma cirratum) who have been conditioned to be fed and handled by humans. They were collected from waters nearby and have adjusted well to their new home. Locally, the sharks are known as "tiburon gato" or cat-shark.

~ If guests are found to be intoxicated or in violation of any of the restrictions listed, or do not follow instructions from our trainers (which may be detrimental to the safety of the animals or other persons in the session) we reserve the right to remove them from the session without providing a refund or rebook the session.
~ This tour offers hotel pick-up in the areas of Susua/Cabarete for an additional $5.00 per person round trip or from Bahia Principe/Luperon Hotels for $10.00 per person round trip. Guest pays any additional fees for the transfer upon arrival at Ocean World.
